    Professor Robert Szreder was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of the Rebirth of Poland for outstanding merits for Polish culture, promoting Polish artists abroad and achievements in artistic activity.

    On October 28th Professor Robert Szreder received order from the Polish Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands dr Jan Borkowski. Distinction was granted upon decision of the President of the Republic of Poland.


    R. Szreder is one of the leading violinists in the Netherlands and one of the greatest violinists of Polish origin. He achieved a lot of artistic success in many European countries, the United States and in South America, Africa and Asia. He made numerous radio, television, LP and CD recordings. He performed in various well-known festivals. He also participated in a jury of the Henryk Wieniawski and Karol Lipinski International Competition for Young Violinists in Lublin.


    In 1985 R. Szreder became a professor at the Maastricht Academy of Music. For many years he has also been invited as a "visiting professor" to conduct Master Classes at the universities in Germany, Ireland, the USA, China, France and Finland. He provides support to young talented violinists. He is committed to promoting young Polish musicians both in the Netherlands and in other countries.


    R. Szreder was the first and till now the only one artist invited to give a recital  at the Peace Palace in The Hague. It took place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the International Court of Justice. For that reason, he was honored with the award of the Medal of the Court.
